Funding available for Townsite Activation

Let's light up our unique towns and spread the festive spirit

The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is on the lookout for projects and events which bring our community together, light up our unique towns and spread the festive spirit across the Shire !

As part of our Community Development and Events Grants program, $50,000 will be allocated specifically for townsite activations initiatives which energise public spaces and give people a chance to connect throughout the year, including Christmas.

Community groups and not-for-profit organisations are encouraged to apply for funding to fill our towns with Christmas cheer by delivering festive events, decorations, creative activations and projects across all townsites

Shire President Julia Jean-Rice said all ideas were welcome!

“We want to give our residents more opportunities to connect all year round, and we’d especially love to see ideas that bring our towns to life over Christmas- whether it’s street parties, creative installations or community events that capture the festive spirit, while celebrating the place we call home.”

A total of $180,000 will be allocated through the broader Community Development and Events Grants program to support projects and events that foster resilience, connection, and well-being.

Local community groups, not-for-profit organisations and individuals with innovative ideas are encouraged to apply and turn their concepts into reality.  Applications close on 13 May 2026.
