Over $77,000 of funding has been awarded to thirteen local projects by the Shire of Augusta Margaret River.
As part of the Shire's 2023-24 Community Development and Events grants program, funding was awarded to projects that foster community resilience, connection and wellbeing, including:
- Edible Gardens Festival, $10,000.
- Undalup Association’s Bunuru Festival, $10,000.
- Extended Beach Bus Trial, $5,000.
- Nature Conservation Margaret River’s Enviro Sundowner Series, $6,666.
- Artzability Inc’s Artistic Bird Houses project, $3,802.
- Windsurfing Western Australia’s Margaret River Windsurfing Wave Classic, $4,500.
- Margaret River Community Centre’s Old Hospital Centenary Celebration Day, $4,658.
- River Angels’ Garden Party 2024, $3,700.
- Margaret River Theatre Group’s Dusa, Fish, Stas and Vi, $3,000.
- Gracetown Cowaramup Bay Association’s Gracetown Easter Festival, $6,601.
- Margaret River Wine Association Inc.’s Pre Vintage 2024 Welcome to Country, $4,800.
- Margaret River and Districts Historical Society’s Arts Connecting Margaret River, $5,000.
- Nala Boodja Eco Clan Corporation’s Reconciliation Week May 2024, $10,000
This was the second round of funding provided via the Community Development and Events Grants program, and brings the total amount of funding for 2023-2024 to $145,000.
