Holiday swimming advice for Margaret River Rivermouth

If you’re planning a swim over the holiday season, please avoid the Margaret River Rivermouth.

Recent water samples show potentially unsafe levels of E. coli at this location.

All other tested swimming spots are currently within acceptable limits, however the community is still urged to take care when entering natural waterways, as conditions can change.

The next round of water sampling by Shire Public Health Officers will take place during the week of 5 January 2026, when the testing laboratory reopens.

Always use your own judgement when swimming.
