Completed ballot papers can be returned in person or via post and must be received by 6pm on Saturday 21 October.

Early voting

You can submit your vote as soon as you receive your voting pack through the following options:

  1. Return via mail using the reply-paid envelope provided
    • If you plan to post your vote, please allow enough time for it to be received before election day.
  2. In person at a Shire office
    • Margaret River Shire Office During opening hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm)
    • Augusta Shire Office During opening hours (Tuesday – Thursday, 9am-12pm, 1pm-4pm). The Augusta office will also be open the day before elections on Friday 20 October from 9am-12pm, 1pm-4pm.

Voting on the day

On election day, Saturday 21 October, you can submit your completed ballot papers at the Margaret River Shire Offices only, at 41 Wallcliffe Road, between 8am-6pm.

Optional Preferential Voting

The 2023 local government elections will use ‘Optional Preferential Voting’ similar to the way voting is done in State or Federal elections.
