Let's Taco About Food Trucks

Food Truck Consultation Coming

Last night Council agreed to undertake a public consultation on some potential changes to the operation of Food Trucks in the Shire.

This means we’ll be asking the community for their view on the where and when food trucks or mobile food vans can operate, and whether more than one food van should be able to operate at the same location, at the same time.

Food Trucks can help to make public spaces more enjoyable, increase the range of takeaway options available to the community and support small businesses.  These benefits also need to be balanced against making sure the locations of food trucks are acceptable in terms of their locations, operating hours and other uses of the areas in which they are located.

We have already undertaken some consultation with mobile food vendors, Margaret River Main Street Traders and key local groups and we now be to asking the community for their thoughts.  A Your Say page with more details will be set up soon.
