Draft Leisure Plan and Public Open Space Strategy Available for Community Feedback

About the Leisure Plan and Public Open Space Strategy

The Leisure Plan and Public Open Space Strategy will inform the development and management of recreation and leisure facilities and services over the next 10 years.

While the documents interlink with shared goals and objectives, the Leisure Plan and Public Open Space Strategy will inform different aspects of leisure planning across the Shire.

The Leisure Plan deals with community and recreation facilities and how they are used, whereas the Public Open Space Strategy focuses more on new areas of land required for public open space into the future.

Our Draft Leisure Plan and Public Open Space Strategy have been developed based on feedback received through community and stakeholder consultation during 2022/23.

We received high levels of engagement from the community throughout the consultation process.

The feedback we received allowed us to identify key themes and priority areas which are reflected in the draft documents.

Further public consultation invited

We are now inviting community members to share their thoughts on the draft documents before they are presented to Council for endorsement in early 2024.

To view the draft documents and to share your thoughts, visit our Your Say page.
