Rapid Ascent Margaret River Ultra Marathon this weekend | 10 & 11 May

We’re proud to once again support via major events grants the Rapid Ascent Margaret River Ultra Marathon, showcasing our beautiful and precious natural environment.

Event details:
•    Dates: 10 & 11 May
•    Distances: 80km ultra marathon and 42km trail marathon

Best of luck to the 400 solo runners tackling the iconic 80km ultra marathon, along with the 1,100 participants in relay teams, and the 400 solo runners taking on the 42km trail marathon, now in its second year.

A warm welcome to all participants from across Australia, and a special shoutout to our local runners taking on this incredible challenge.

Runners will be navigating trails along shared coastal pathways, so please be mindful, create space and cheer them on as they pass by!

Important notices:
•    The Prevelly check point is located at Riflebutts Reserves Riflebutts oval dog exercise area will be closed from 7am to 7pm while the check point is in operation Please keep dogs on leads if walking through the area to the Riflebutts beach off lead area.
•    The Gracetown checkpoint has been relocated to Gracetown Hall, with the oval designated for event parking.
•    The oval dog exercise area will be closed on Saturday 10 May from 9am to 9pm. Melaleuca Beach will serve as the alternative dog exercise area during this time.

This event not only promotes health and wellbeing by encouraging physical activity but also supports local businesses and strengthens our community spirit. Let's come together to celebrate and support this fantastic event.

Our Shire is a certified ECO Destination and a biodiversity hotspot, so we kindly ask all participants and spectators to tread lightly on Wadandi Boodja, by leaving only footprints.
