BEN and shark activity signs
There has been increased shark activity along our coast in recent weeks, with several recorded sightings and interactions. These may be noted on the shark activity signs attached to the BEN (Beach Emergency Numbers) signs.
BEN signs play a crucial role in community safety by helping emergency services pinpoint your exact location and save valuable time in an emergency.
Unfortunately, one of the BEN signs has recently gone missing in an area near where a community member was knocked from his board by a shark. While the sign wasn’t needed in this instance, these signs are vital for ensuring a rapid emergency response.
