Volunteer Award Nominations Now Open! Pictured: 2022 Volunteers of the Year, Jan White (left) and Gordon Temby (right), with 2022 Youth Volunteer of the Year, Kai-Anna Prendergast (centre).

The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is calling for community members to get their nominations in for the 2023 Volunteer of the Year and Youth Volunteer of the Year awards.

The awards seek to recognise the dynamic and vital role that volunteers have in enriching our community across the arts, community events, wildlife care, emergency services, sport, environmental causes and so much more.

Community members can now nominate an outstanding volunteer or find out more online. Hard copy forms are available from the Shire of Augusta Margaret River libraries, Recreation Centre, Margaret River HEART or Shire Administration Building.

Nominations close at 4pm on Monday 20 November 2023. The winners will be announced as part of the Thank a Volunteer Day Celebration to be held from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday 5 December 2023 at Nala Bardip Mia - Margaret River HEART.

For further information about Volunteer of the Year nominations or the event, please contact Community Development Administration Officer Shannon Walker on 08 9780 5276 or email [email protected]

This initiative stems from the Shire of Augusta Margaret River’s Strategic Community Plan 2040 which aims to promote welcoming, inclusive and healthy communities through supporting and valuing volunteers and community groups across the region.
