Shire grants and ­financial assistance programs open 2 March 2021 for initiatives taking place in the 2021-22 Financial Year.

Funding programs are listed below including guidelines and application forms.

Community

Community Development and Events Grants ($2,000 - $12,000)

The 2021-22 Community Development and Events Grants are for incorporated, community-based, volunteer and not-for-profit organisations to support the delivery of projects and events that foster community resilience, connection and wellbeing.

Community Development and Events Grants Easy Grants (Under $2,000)

Incorporated, community-based, not-for-profit organisations can apply for grants of up to $2,000 to support access to training and professional development for volunteers, purchase of equipment and delivery of small events and activations that encourage local community and/or neighbourhood participation and engagement.

Applications are open for the duration of 2021-22 or until all funds are allocated.

Community Halls Grants

The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is committed to supporting community organisations who manage and activate Shire halls and facilities for the benefit of the community. Grants are available to provide a financial contribution towards operating expenses incurred by the organisations to carry out these duties.

Donations

Donations are made available to community groups or individuals to support support activities that benefit the community or individuals who represent the Shire at a national or international level.

Applications for a donation are accepted year-round until the funds are exhausted.

Arts and Culture

HEART Grants

The HEART Grants Program supports and activates arts, culture and business activities at the Margaret River HEART, by assisting event organisers with the costs of hosting an event at the facility.

Applications should be submitted via email at least eight (8) weeks prior to the event booking.

Major Events

Major Events Grants

The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is committed to supporting major events of State or National significance that attract visitors, generate economic activity, engage the community and promote the region.

Objectives in providing grants to major events:

  1. To support events that promote our region by attracting visitors as participants, spectators and support crews
  2. To support events that maximise the economic benefits to local businesses to achieve a vibrant and diverse economy
  3. To support events that are inclusive, foster healthy lifestyles and are respectful of the local community
  4. To support events that are environmentally responsible and support the preservation of our unique natural environment.

Sustainable Environment

Environmental Management Fund (EMF) Grant

The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is committed to valuing and protecting the natural environment and supporting the community to become more sustainable. The Shire also recognises the valuable role that community groups, organisations and individuals can play in driving sustainability and protecting and enhancing our natural environment.

The Environmental Management Fund (EMF) Grant Program is a funding stream endorsed by Council to fund projects which achieve local environmental and sustainability outcomes.

The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is seeking interested parties to apply for funding through the EMF. Grants of up to $50,000 (incl. GST) are available for the following themes:

  1. Biodiversity protection
  2. Waterway health
  3. Coastal management and protection
  4. Sustainability
  5. Environmental education.

Community Organisation Operating Grants

Community Organisation Operating Grants provide a financial contribution towards the operation and administration costs of incorporated community-based, not-for-profit organisations who provide long term, strategic services within the Shire of Augusta Margaret River, that build community wellbeing, capacity and resilience.
