BeatLab x HipHop 101 | Music Workshop

Dive into beatmaking, songwriting and DJing, and record your own original music 

BeatLab x HipHop101 is FREE school holiday music program for young people aged 10 to 17 which brings some of WA hip-hop’s experienced artists and facilitators to Margaret River for 3 x 1 day workshops.

Open to young people aged 10 to 17, participants will work in small groups with Rob Shaker, Dazastah and Coz Lake and rotating through beatmaking, songwriting and recording/production to create and record original music together.  There’ll also be opportunities to explore DJing, scratching, finger drumming and performance.

The program finishes with a special BeatLab x HipHop101 Youth Showcase at The River on Friday 2 October, where participants can share what they’ve created in whatever way they’re comfortable.

Each workshop is limited to 12 participants and no previous music experience is needed. Young people who simply want to try making music are all welcome.
