Next Generation Riders Get a Chance to Join Cape to Cape MTB
Mountain biking is part of Augusta–Margaret River’s identity, and now young riders can join the iconic Cape to Cape MTB with the launch of Cape Kids.Supported by the Shire’s Major Events Grants Program, Cape to Cape MTB is Australia’s largest multi-day Mountain bike race, held every October in the Margaret River region.
Starting at Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse and finishing four days later at Cape Naturaliste, riders tackle 200 km of stunning trails through vineyards, National Parks, forests, farmland, and even brewery finishes.
The new Cape Kids event will be held on the day before the official race, giving children aged 6 to 17 the chance to experience the thrill of Cape to Cape MTB.
The course, modelled on the official race will start and finish at Nippers Oval, which will become a welcoming space for participants, families, and the community to connect and celebrate the sport and outdoor lifestyle we all love.
Some of Australia’s top mountain bikers will also attend to sign autographs and inspire the next generation.
Entry is just $30, with part of the proceeds going to the Margaret River Off-Road Cycling Association (MRORCA) who voluntarily build and maintain many trails in the Shire. Plus all riders will receive a C2C race plate and a participant medal.
Events like Cape to Cape MTB bring the community together, promote healthy lifestyles, and continue to grow in ways that benefit everyone. Cape Kids is the perfect way to kick off the excitement of this epic event!
Cape Kids will be held on 15 October 2025.
