Get advice from the Public Health team
Residents planning a holiday house, property upgrade or development are encouraged to seek early advice on their wastewater system to help avoid delays during the approvals process.
The Shire’s Public Health team can provide guidance on wastewater and septic systems before you lodge a Development Application (DA) or apply for a Building Permit. Early advice can help determine whether your existing system is suitable for your proposal and whether any upgrades may be required.
By submitting a Wastewater Property Advice Request, Public Health Officers can assist with:

Existing wastewater system plans or approvals and compliance issues

Suitability of your current system and any required upgrades
You should lodge a request for holiday houses, dwelling alterations, additions or conversions such as sheds to ancillary accommodation. To request advice, download and complete the Wastewater Property Advice Request form and return it by email, post or in person.
