The Shire follows the State Government's Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework in planning its organisational activities. These plans are carefully maintained through regular review and community engagement. View all documents under Publications.
The Community Strategic Plan 2036 details the community's vision for our local goverment area. It builds on past strategic planning, details the challenges we face, and sets the goal areas where the organisation will deliver. The plan was adopted by Council on 27 September 2017 and is currently under a major review.
The Corporate Business Plan is reviewed every year to ensure the organisation has clear focus, aligned with the activities and needs of the broader community. The Corporate Business Plan 2020-24 was endorsed by Council on 26 August 2020.
The Shire's annual budget is reviewed every year bynShire Executive and Councillors. The budget details the Shire's operational spend to deliever year one of the Corporate Business Plan. The Annual Budget 2020-21 was endorsed by Council on 22 July 2020.
Informing strategies are used to test and inform the long-term aspirations of the Strategic Community Plan and guides the reviews of the Corporate Business Plan and annual budget. These documents include:
Council adopted a ten year Asset Management Strategy on 10 June 2020. These documents aim to ensure the Shire has the necessary funds and resources available to maintain its $534M asset portfolio in a safe and acceptable standard. This includes roads, bridges, car parks, stormwater drainage, paths and trails, community buildings, jetties and boat ramps, parks and reserves.
