Full payment is due 35 days after the date of issue of the original notice. Note: The due date is shown on the front of the rates notice.

Interest is charged on arrears balances and where rates and charge remain unpaid after the due date as shown on the rate notice.  The rate of interest is 11% per annum which calculates daily basis on the balance unpaid.  Eligible pensioners and seniors are exempt from penalty interest.

You can elect to pay your rates over four instalments.

By choosing this option and making payment on or before the due date of the rates notice, you will be automatically entered into a prize draw.

Important notes:

  • Administration fees and interest apply. Administration interest is charged at the rate of 5.5% as adopted by Council. Eligible pensioners and seniors are exempt from instalment administration fees and interest.
  • Instalments have set due dates for payment. The due dates for payment of rates by instalments are shown on the annual rates notice. The Shire issues reminder notices 28 days prior to the following instalment due date.
  • The instalment option is not available if you pay late (after the due date shown on the rates notice).
  • To qualify for the instalment option the ratepayer must pay any arrears and the full amount of the first instalment by the first due date. Payment must be received by close of business on the due date. No responsibility can be taken for any delays with mail delivery.
  • If you have any outstanding arrears, these must be paid in the first instalment. If any arrears remain unpaid, the instalment option may not be taken.

Weekly, fortnightly or monthly BPAY payments can be made to pay off your rates in smaller amounts.

If a more regular payment arrangement would better suit your financial needs, please make a special arrangement request online and the Revenue team will contact you once your request has been reviewed and approved.
