The Shire’s friendly Planning Services team routinely provide basic planning advice via phone or email. As we all know, having the right advice is essential to ensuring a successful project.
To allow for more in depth information to be provided the existing service is now being expanded so that detailed written advice can be provided for a small fee.
To obtain written planning information, just fill out the form provided including as much detail as you can about the nature of the advice you are seeking.
Please appreciate that written planning advice does not replace the assessment associated with the lodgement of a development application. While the advice is given in good faith, it in no way binds a future decision by the Council.
Most proposed developments within the shire are assessed under the Shire of Augusta Margaret River Planning Scheme which:
Planning approval is required for any of the following application types:
The Shire is currently reviewing all Information Fact sheets which will be made available on the website when finalised. For further information or to find out whether your proposal will require planning approval please contact the Planning Administration staff on 9780 5265 or 9780 5270.
Should you wish to make a complaint about development or use of land in the shire you will need to complete a Planning Complaints form and send it to Chief Executive Officer Shire of Augusta Margaret River PO Box 61 Margaret River WA 6285.
